Music is an important part
of the life and ministry of the Cathedral. Choir participation plays a vital part in the development of the spiritual life and faith of all ages; through choral experience, children and youth also learn the liturgy and significance of the sacraments of the Episcopal Church.

Marvin Faulwell - Theater Organist
Trick-or-Treat early this year because the headless horseman rides again! Will Rogers stars as Ichabod Crane in the 1922 silent movie classic “The Headless Horseman.” The feature movie along with two comic shorts is accompanied on the Cathedral’s 62-rank pipe organ by theater organist Marvin Faulwell. This partnership concert is made possible thanks to the Topeka & Shawnee County Library. Long-time faculty member of the Gnesins' Russian Academy of Music, Moscow, Artur Aksenov performs Beethoven’s Sonata for Piano No. 28, Hugo Wolf’s Solitude, Liszt’s transcription of The Overture “Tannhäuser”, and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. World-class music by a world-class pianist.
